about

how did this happen

World Population has been growing since the Bubonic Plague in the 1400’s. The cycle of birth and death seemed to be able to even out the world’s population in the past. In modern times, the advancement of medicine and science have caused humans to have longer lives and has thrown off the birth and death cycle. Our population numbers are exceeding the earth’s ability to provide natural resources and quality of life for all. For this very reason, the intervention of human beings such as birth control and even regulations to reestablish a sustainable balance between available earth resources and overall population across the planet represents no longer a matter of human rights but a dire responsibility of each individual and a must for governments to enforce it.

let's get involved

Many debates and conferences are being held to discuss overpopulation. Leading academic scientists are attending these conferences, researchers and research scholars to exchange and share their experiences and research results on all aspects of Population and Development. One of the most important upcoming conferences is the ICPD 2018: 20th International Conference on Population and Development. The Population Association of America (PAA). the PAA is a nonprofit, scientific, professional organization established to promote the improvement, advancement, and progress of the human condition through research of problems related to human population. The conference attendees included demographers, sociologists, economists, and public health professionals.

final thoughts

The United States strongly supports the Program of Action of the 1994 International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD). A key principle of the ICPD is that couples and individuals have the right to decide freely and responsibly the number, spacing, and timing of their children and the right to have the information, education, and means to do so. Only with the effort of many people can we reduce the population growth and continue as we currently have. If we can keep the population under control, we can spread resources out and live better in the future.
